Update for the Week Beginning Oct. 12

The second quarter of school has begun. Where does the time go? The sixth graders are at camp this week. Let's keep them in our prayers for a safe and spiritual week.

Fifth through Eighth Graders are wrapping up a creative writing project. They are really enjoying it. I definitely plan to do more creative writing with the kids. As always, students should use this assignment to practice good keyboarding skills, including correct fingering and not looking at the keyboard as they type.

Update for Week Beginning Oct. 5

This is the last week of the quarter. I am not assigning any additional homework this week but if students need to finish any missing work, they must do so by 8AM on Monday morning or it will not be reflected on the Quarter 1 report card. See OptionC for your grade totals.

Students are progressing nicely on First in Math. It is good to see them so interested in using this program to boost their math skills and the teachers tell me they can see results. Last Thursday, EVERY computer in the Computer Lab was being used during Open Lab time (lunch recess) and a few more were turned away because a computer was not available. For me, this is a nice problem to have and shows that the students are motivated enough by the program to give up their own personal time to do it. It appears that the program is well worth the $7/child annual fee. Keep up the great work guys.
